Long-haired · High grooming
The Texel is the curly one: Silkie-type long hair that falls in soft ringlets all over the body. It is one of the most striking and sought-after breeds, and one of the most demanding to groom.
Those curls tangle easily, so gentle, regular combing is a must, and the coat needs to be kept clean and dry to avoid matting. A trim keeps a pet Texel comfortable.
They tend to be sweet and mellow, happy to sit for the grooming they need. Not the breed for someone who wants a wash-and-go pet.
