Long-haired · High grooming
The Peruvian is the showstopper: long, straight hair that grows forward over the face as well as back, so a groomed adult looks like a walking mop with no obvious front or back.
It is the highest-maintenance coat of all the breeds. Show Peruvians are kept in wraps and papers, but as pets almost everyone keeps them in a shorter trim so they can see and stay clean.
Expect daily attention to the coat, or commit to a regular trim. Underneath the hair they are curious, active little pigs with big personalities.
