Guinea pig weight tracker

Weighing your guinea pig once a week on a kitchen scale is the single best early-warning system there is. A steady drop is often the first sign of illness, long before anything else shows. Log weights here and watch the trend. Everything stays private in your browser.

How to weigh a guinea pig

Pop them in a bowl or box on a digital kitchen scale (in grams), or weigh yourself holding them and subtract your weight. Do it the same day each week. Adult pigs usually sit between 700 and 1200 g depending on breed and sex.

When to worry: a loss of about 30 g or more, or 5% of body weight, held over a week, is worth a vet check, especially with any other symptom. Small day-to-day wobbles are normal. See our health problems guide.
