Short-haired · Low grooming also called the Siamese cavy
Often called the Siamese of guinea pigs, the Himalayan is white with dark points, a chocolate or black nose, ears and feet. Fascinatingly, the points are temperature-sensitive: they darken in cold weather and can fade to nothing in heat or bright sun.
The short coat is easy to groom, but keep a Himalayan out of strong sun to protect the delicate points and the pink skin.
They are usually gentle and quiet, a striking, low-maintenance breed with a genuinely unusual coat pattern.
